EUA-CDE Steering Committee welcomes new chairperson and three new members

EUA-CDE is pleased to announce that the EUA Board has appointed a new chair and three new members to the EUA-CDE Steering Committee.

Appointed as the Steering Committee’s new chair is:

Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, former Head of the Doctoral School, Professor of Sociology at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and until 31 August 2022 member of the EUA-CDE Steering Committee.

The three new members are:

- Åse Gornitzka, Pro-Rector at the University of Oslo, Norway

- Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal

- Karin van Wingerde, Director, Graduate School of Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands

The new members succeed Luke Georghiou (chair) from the University of Manchester, Hans-Joachim Bungartz from the Technical University of Munich and Mossadek Talby from Aix-Marseille University.

As of 1 September 2022, the composition of the EUA-CDE Steering Committee will be as follows:

- Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, former Head of the Doctoral School and Professor of Sociology, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (Chair)

- Paolo Biscari, former Dean of the Doctoral School and Professor in Condensed Matter Physics, Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy

- Barbara Dooley, Deputy President and Acting Registrar, University College Dublin, Ireland

- Åse Gornitzka, Pro-Rector at the University of Oslo, Norway

- Irma Grdzelidze, Head of Quality Assurance Service, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia

- Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal

- Pirjo Nikander, Research Director of the Doctoral School, Tampere University, Finland

- Andrei Terian-Dan, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Internationalisation, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania

- Karin van Wingerde, Director, Graduate School of Law, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands

- Martine Rahier, former Rector, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland; EUA Vice-President (ex-officio EUA Board member)
