EUA-CDE Steering Committee welcomes two new members

The EUA Council for Doctoral Education is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members of its Steering Committee:

- Andrei Terian-Dan, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Internationalisation at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania

- Irma Grdzelidze, Head of Quality Assurance Service at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia

Their term has started on 1 April 2021. The new members replace Edwin Constable from the University of Basel, Switzerland and Murat Özgören from Dokuz Eylül University, Turkey, who stepped down at the end of their term in the Committee.

The new composition of the EUA-CDE Steering Committee will be as follows:

- Luke Georghiou, Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Manchester, UK (Chair)

- Paolo Biscari, Dean of Doctoral School, Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy

- Hans-Joachim Bungartz, Graduate Dean, Technical University of Munich, Germany

- Barbara Dooley, Dean of Graduate Studies, University College Dublin, Ireland

- Irma Grdzelidze, Head of Quality Assurance Service, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia

- Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, Head of Doctoral School, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

- Pirjo Nikander, Research Director of Doctoral School, Tampere University, Finland

- Mossadek Talby, Director of Doctoral College, Aix-Marseille University, France

- Andrei Terian-Dan, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Internationalisation, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania

- Martine Rahier, former Rector, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland; EUA Vice-President (ex-officio EUA Board member)
