EUA Council for Doctoral Education

Registrations for the 11th EUA-CDE Annual Meeting “Excellence through diversity: Doctoral education in a globalised world” are now open. The event will be hosted by the University of Ljubljana on 7 and 8 June 2018 in Slovenia.

 

The Meeting will focus on diversity in doctoral education. Academic leaders, doctoral education professionals and other stakeholders will gather to consider how different dimensions of diversity contribute to the success of doctoral education in an increasingly globalised environment. This includes institutional diversity, as well as the diverse backgrounds of to-day’s doctoral candidates and also access to doctoral education.

 

One key element of our meeting will be the presentation and discussion of the results of a comprehensive study on the organisation of doctoral education in Europe. The study will provide key information on the status of doctoral education in Europe and inform the work of the EUA-CDE in the coming years. Given the growing importance of internationalisation in doctoral education, the programme will also include perspectives from outside Europe.
